If you require a skilled & experienced piper to play at your wedding in and around Inverness, Nairn, Forres or Elgin (or elsewhere in the North of Scotland), then look no further – you can be sure that Gus the Piper will provide an excellent service for a fair & reasonable price. Gus has been piping for over 40 years and has performed at numerous weddings to the complete satisfaction of clients.
At a wedding, Gus’ duties typically include piping for the arrival of guests & the bride, leading the bride up the aisle, leading the newlyweds down the aisle & later into the reception. Gus will usually play a medley from his wide repertoire of tunes to entertain guests as they arrive at the venue. An upbeat rendition of the tune ‘Highland Cathedral’ is popular for leading the bride up the aisle. The celebratory tune ‘Marie’s Wedding’ is usually played at the conclusion of the ceremony. Gus will then lead the newlyweds into the reception to a rousing tune such as ‘Scotland the Brave’. Upon booking, Gus will chat with you about your specific requirements such as when and where he is to play and your choice of tunes.
“Hi Gus, We have just arrived back from our honeymoon. Just wanted to drop you a short note to say thank you again for your fantastic piping at our wedding. It was very kind of you to make the effort to travel at such short notice and you helped make the atmosphere special for us all. Many of our guests (particularly the American contingent) commented that it was a great accompaniment to the day and your piping really made an impression at dinner! All best wishes, Charles and Katie”
